Thank you Maynard Beach VOLUNTEERS!

Posted on by NOSC

Nearly 50 volunteers came out on March 28, professing their love for salmon by planting dozens upon dozens of nootka roses along the shoreline of Discovery Bay. They also planted firs, red-flowering currants, oregon grape bushes, and snowberries, to support salmon and other wildlife.

After completing major construction of our Discovery Bay restoration project in October, the site is now almost completely planted. It’s open to the public, so feel free to explore the new sand spits and tidal lagoons.  Click here for Direction to Maynard.

Many thanks to all our volunteers, and especially to sponsors of the planting event. Check out these fine local businesses who support fish and wildlife!

  • Farm’s Reach Cafe in Chimacum donated AMAZING cookies.
  • J n K Train Cars provided access to bathrooms, parking, and opened early to serve espresso and coffee for our earnest planters!

Thanks to all!
