Salmon MicroFestival and Meeting Friday Nov. 22nd
A revival of the Salmon Festival is afoot! At our annual meeting in October, a group of longtime county residents and restoration supporters gathered to discuss the possibility of reinvigorating a cherished tradition: the Wild Olympic Salmon Festival. These community salmon celebrations – filled with art, storytelling, music, food, dance, and family fun – enlivened the autumn season in Chimacum for years, and invigorated the education and restoration efforts that evolved to become NOSC.
Through phone calls, emails, and word of mouth, this group’s organizing for this year has taken root and we are expecting a merry crowd at the Chimacum Grange, from 3:30pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, November 22. Join us for a potluck and traditional salmon bake as we remember our local heritage and dream of the possibilities for future full-scale festivals.
