Tree planting & tubing @ Snow Creek: Sat Feb 11th & 18th

Posted on by NOSC

Planting and Blue Tube Party at Snow Creek!

Only a couple hundred plants left of the 5,550 plants going in along Snow Creek this winter. We need volunteers to ensure these plants get in the ground and protected before it is too late. We will be putting protective blue tubes so the trees will not get munched on by deer, overgrown by invasives or whacked with a brush cutter during maintenance days. It’s gonna be a tubing partaay!  We’ll provide gloves and shovels.  Please bring water and lunch and wear appropriate warm clothing and footwear.  RSVP to Jac at jentringer@nosc.org or call the office at (360) 379-8051 so we can bring enough tools.

Directions to site:
Snow Creek is located in Discovery Bay.
From 101, Take W Uncas Rd (just west of where Rt 20 meets 101 near the ‘buffalo/elk jerky hut’).  On your left hand side you’ll see a dirt road.  Look for a NOSC sign and park at the beginning of this dirt road.  Space is limited so carpooling is encouraged. From there, walk down the dirt road to find NOSC and the planting site.

    Hi Alina & Jac,

Spoke to Alina today and am giving my email should you need help. If available, if would be fun to join you. Just let me know when I need my hiking or rubber boots.

I still have to go purchase rubber boots.

    Have a great day!
