Thank You Chimacum Creek Tree Planters!
High winds and the threat of rain couldn’t stop 24 hardy volunteers from planting over 400 trees along Chimacum Creek this past Saturday!
Tree planters of all ages came out for this NOSC and Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County partner event in order to plant native trees and shrubs for chum, coho, and other salmonids that call Chimacum Creek home. Thank you, volunteers and Habitat for Humanity, for making this event a successful one!
NOSC would like to extend an extra special thank you to Kyra Weidner, senior at Port Townsend High School. Kyra took on this event as her senior project and helped tremendously in the planning process, with outreach and site preparation, and as a crew leader during the planting. Thank you, Kyra, for all of your hard work!
