Volunteers Needed to Plant Water-Wise Demonstration in Sequim

Posted on by NOSC

The Clallam Conservation District and the City of Sequim need volunteers to help establish a low impact development demonstration site that will demonstrate low-water use landscaping.  Nearly 2,000 ground covers need to be planted at a half-acre site adjacent to Carrie Blake Park in Sequim.  As part of this water-wise demonstration, the conservation district will also install a rain garden and porous asphalt in an adjacent parking lot.

Mulch has been donated by Hermann Brothers, and a couple hours of front-end loader work by a nearby farmer.

If you are interested in helping out, please contact Joe E. Holtrop, Disctrict Manager with CCD directly:  joe.holtrop@clallamcd.org, 360-452-1912 ext. 103, www.clallamcd.org
