SUMMARY:Member Tour: Pedersen Nearshore Project
DESCRIPTION:Join NOSC for our first Member Tour of 2026!\nMember Tours give Salmon Coalition Members the opportunity to see the impact of the work they support with tours of complete\, in-progress\, or upcoming projects with staff members. \nAfter 25 years of restoration work in Discovery Bay\, one of the next pieces of the puzzle is falling into place. This summer\, crews break ground at the Pedersen Project\, located on a parcel recently acquired by Jefferson Land Trust\, and you’re invited to see the work up close.  \nJoin Project Manager Kevin Long on Wednesday\, August 12 at 10am for a casual “hard hat”-style tour of the active restoration site (we likely won’t need actual hard hats). Kevin will walk you through why nearshore and estuary habitat matters so much for young salmon\, how old infrastructure like bulkheads and railroad grades disrupts this zone\, and what NOSC and our engineering partners plan to accomplish before the season ends. The Discovery Bay effort has already returned benefits well beyond salmon\, supporting shorebirds\, shellfish\, and marine mammals\, and this project builds on that momentum.  \nSpace is limited and RSVP is required. Sign up yourself and guests below. \nWhat to expect: the tour covers mostly flat\, firm ground with minimal walking. Park along the road and take a short stroll down a gravel drive to the site.  \nDriving directions are provided in registration confirmation. \n  \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Member Tour: Price Street Site
DESCRIPTION:Join NOSC for our second Member Tour of 2026!\nMember Tours give Salmon Coalition Members the opportunity to see the impact of the work they support with tours of complete\, in-progress\, or upcoming projects with staff members. \nJoin Project Manager Kevin Long on Thursday\, October 1 at 10am for a casual tour of the Price Street restoration site in Port Hadlock. The site sits above critical spawning habitat for endangered Hood Canal summer chum salmon in Chimacum Creek. After decades of restoration helped bring summer chum back to the creek\, erosion\, dumping\, abandoned vehicles\, stormwater runoff\, and other impacts at the Price Street property threatened that progress. Kevin will share how partners worked together to remove vehicles\, a trailer\, concrete slab\, septic system\, and other debris; stabilize the eroding bank; and plant native vegetation. The project helps protect approximately 1.5 miles of heavily used summer chum spawning habitat downstream. \nSpace is limited and RSVP is required. Sign up yourself and guests below. \nWhat to expect: the tour start off Price Street itself then proceeds down the bank via a short trail to the edge of Chimacum Creek \nDriving directions are provided in registration confirmation. \n  \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Member Tour: Snow Creek/Uncas Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Join NOSC for our third Member Tour of 2026!\nMember Tours give Salmon Coalition Members the opportunity to see the impact of the work they support with tours of complete\, in-progress\, or upcoming projects with staff members. \nWhat does it take to turn an eroding creek into better habitat for salmon? Join us at Snow Creek Uncas Preserve to see restoration up close and learn how a healthier creek supports fish\, forests\, and wildlife. \nIn 2023\, NOSC worked with partners to restore a half-mile stretch of Snow Creek on land protected by Jefferson Land Trust. The project added log jams and side channels to slow the water\, reduce erosion\, and give salmon more places to rest and grow. Planting native trees and shrubs is another key part of caring for the creek’s future. Our Riparian Specialist Nate will guide you in this tour\, sharing the story behind the work and the role streamside plants play in a healthy watershed. Along the way\, you’ll have time to ask questions\, connect with fellow members\, and explore a place your support helps NOSC care for. Whether you’re new to salmon restoration or curious about what happens after construction\, we invite you to join us. \nSpace is limited and RSVP is required. Sign up yourself and guests below. \nWhat to expect: The Uncas Preserve is mostly flat terrain with typical forest hazards such as hidden roots and other obsticles. Bring sturdy walking shoes\, a water bottle\, and your curiosity. \nDriving directions are provided in registration confirmation. \n  \nFill out my LGL Form!
