Donovan Creek Planting – Help needed this week

Posted on by NOSC

Title: Donovan Creek Planting
Location: Quilcene
Link out: Click here
Description: Currently we are looking for as many people as possible to help our WCC crew complete a large scale 24,000 plant project along Donovan Creek in Quilcene. One of the crew members is out because she had carpel tunnel surgery on both of her wrists so we need extra help filling her place. As you have probably seen trees are budding and we need to get these plants in the ground ASAP. The Crew will be there Monday-Thurs (April 9-12) 8:00am-4:30pm and would really appreciate any time you can give to help complete this planting.

Donovan Creek is a beautiful location and you would be working with our extremely friendly WCC Crew and Owen French the Crew Supervisor. They are on site from 8:00-4:30pm and whatever time you can help out with will be greatly appreciated. The crew brought extra shovels in hopes people would join them. Aliina will be out there for most days as well. Owen advises rain boots because some sites are particularly muddy.

Directions to work site:
– Head south on Center Road
– Take a left on McInnis Rd
– The site will be on your left. Look for a brown gate and a JEFFERSON LAND TRUST sign. You can park at the river or the side of the road.
– If you miss McInnis Rd you can take a left on East Quilcene Rd, then a Left on McInnis.
– Owen’s number (Crew Supervisor) is (360) 470-0004

Any bit of help will be greatly appreciated. If you have friends or neighbors, bring them along! Please call the office (360) 379-8051 if you have any questions.
