On January 21st, over one hundred people from the community participated in the removal of invasive species at Irondale Beach Park. A total of 19,191 square feet of invasive species were removed from the beach. The removal of himilayan blackberries and english ivy enhances the habitat of forage fish that lay their eggs on the shore of Irondale beach park. Forage fish such as the sandlance or surfsmelt are what salmon rely on as a food source.

Each year Martin Luther King day draws a large crowd, this year was phonemonal! Volunteers, you deserve a pat on the back.
