Volunteers pot 450 native plants for future plantings around the Peninsula

Posted on by NOSC

Salmon love trees. Volunteers love parties. NOSC loves salmon, trees, volunteers AND parties. On Saturday, March 29th, 11 people joined NOSC for one of our many celebrations: our nursery potting party.

Each spring we celebrate the end of tree planting season by holding a work party at our native plant nursery in Chimacum. This past Saturday, during four wet hours, volunteers potted 450 bare-root seedlings for future plantings around the Peninsula! These trees and shrubs will spend the next year building strong roots and robust foliage, and will be primed for future and existing salmon habitat during the 2014-2015 planting season.

Thank you to all our volunteers for a great work party! Be sure to check our website and facebook for upcoming volunteer events.
