NOSC is recruiting two Community Engagement Specialists to collaborate with the friendly, hardworking staff of NOSC to improve wild salmon stocks and educate the local community about our work through environmental education, community education and stewardship programs, and outreach. This position is primarily based out of our office in Port Townsend and includes travel within our region using a state fleet vehicle and/or the applicantās personal vehicle, reimbursable at the state rate.
2 Positions AvailableĀ
- (1) 10.5-month service term, beginning September 1st – July 15th
- (1) 8.5-month service term, beginning September 1st – May 15th

Members receive:

What are AmeriCorps and Washington Service Corps?
AmeriCorps is our country’s national civic service program for serving in country. It is like the Peace Corps which sends volunteers to serve abroad. AmeriCorps members commit to serve full time for a term of 8.5 – 10.5 months in a community where there is need. They earn a modest monthly stipend and basic medical insurance during their service. When members complete their term, they earn an education award of up to $7,395. Members who are over 55 have the option of transferring their education award to a family member. Washington Service Corps is one of the oldest and largest statewide AmeriCorps programs in the country. We connect over 400 members with service sites every year. AmeriCorps members must be:

- US citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent resident aliens.
- At least 18 years old at the time of service (17 allowed with parental permission).
- Be able to pass the required National Service Criminal History Checks.
