Member Tour: Snow Creek/Uncas Preserve

October 23 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join NOSC for our third Member Tour of 2026!

Member Tours give Salmon Coalition Members the opportunity to see the impact of the work they support with tours of complete, in-progress, or upcoming projects with staff members.

What does it take to turn an eroding creek into better habitat for salmon? Join us at Snow Creek Uncas Preserve to see restoration up close and learn how a healthier creek supports fish, forests, and wildlife.

In 2023, NOSC worked with partners to restore a half-mile stretch of Snow Creek on land protected by Jefferson Land Trust. The project added log jams and side channels to slow the water, reduce erosion, and give salmon more places to rest and grow. Planting native trees and shrubs is another key part of caring for the creek’s future. Our Riparian Specialist Nate will guide you in this tour, sharing the story behind the work and the role streamside plants play in a healthy watershed. Along the way, you’ll have time to ask questions, connect with fellow members, and explore a place your support helps NOSC care for. Whether you’re new to salmon restoration or curious about what happens after construction, we invite you to join us.

Space is limited and RSVP is required. Sign up yourself and guests below.

What to expect: The Uncas Preserve is mostly flat terrain with typical forest hazards such as hidden roots and other obsticles. Bring sturdy walking shoes, a water bottle, and your curiosity.

Driving directions are provided in registration confirmation.
