Wine Bottle Labeling Party at Olympic Cellars

In the wine world, unlabeled bottles are called shiners. Olympic Cellars Winery is closing its doors after 47 years, and the owners told us they wanted their last shiners to do some environmental good. They have a pallet of them, almost 650 bottles. After conversations with the winery owners and the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe’s 7 Cedars a plan was hatched. The wine would be sold under a special salmon-themed label. 7 Cedars will purchase the entire run to sell at their Longhouse store in Blyn, and the proceeds will be donated to NOSC to support salmon habitat restoration and education.
The design for the labels is almost done. The bottles are ready. The only thing missing is labeling the bottles, and that’s where YOU come in.
On Thursday, October 22nd at 9am we’re gathering a group of volunteers to apply labels to every bottle. With 15 people we can knock these out in just a few hours. The more volunteers that participate, the quicker the bottles get labeled. If you’ve been eager to volunteer but going out in the field is an issue these days this activity is for you. It’s simple, satisfying work, done side-by-side with fellow salmon supporters, and it’s for a great cause. Bring some friends, and let’s make it a party! We’ll have music, (non-alcoholic) beverages, and something to snack on at mid-day. RSVP below.
