Volunteer Planting: Lower Salmon Creek 11/14

Team up with NOSC to continue the revegetation of Salmon Creek by planting native trees and shrubs on November 14th! A historic estuary, the lower site had been graded and used as pasture for several decades, with several dilapidated railroad and mill buildings requiring removal. A total of 25,000 cubic yards of mill waste were trucked offsite, which revealed remnants of old tidal channels. After the waste removal, the site was graded to salt marsh elevation, and native plants were re-established. We will carry on this native revegetation work to support a healthy recovery for the site and its salmon!
