Doors open at 5pm. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm.
Where:
Dungeness River Nature Center

Announcing our Keynote Speaker:
Monica Blanchard, Fish/Lamprey Biologist
Monica Blanchard works for Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and US Fish and Wildlife, focusing on conservation and monitoring of native lampreys for both agencies. In this position, she works on raising awareness about lampreys and collaborates with biologist and managers to incorporate lamprey into projects around the state. Additionally, she leads and participates in research projects in WA and OR to advance our understanding of lamprey and their habitat use. Prior to this position she worked on salmon and steelhead restoration projects and ESA monitoring in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. One of her favorite things about these fish, both west coast lampreys and salmonids, is the great variety of ecosystems they inhabit.
Monica will speak about the life histories and ecological importance of lamprey as well as the connection between salmon restoration work and these unique fish!
