Volunteer Planting: Lower Salmon Creek

November 14 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Team up with NOSC to continue the revegetation of Salmon Creek by planting native trees and shrubs on November 14th! As part of ongoing environmental recovery efforts by NOSC and partner organizations, we will be continuing riparian restoration of lower Salmon Creek that began over 20 years ago by planting native trees and shrubs where vegetation is currently lacking. Mature vegetation was removed several decades ago when the land was converted for agriculture. Restoration of the stream and its adjacent riparian wetlands began way back in 2003 following acquisition of the property by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Progress since then has been amazing to see, but there’s still more work to be done. Join us on Saturday, November 14th as we carry on this native revegetation work to support a healthy recovery for Salmon Creek, its salmon, and the numerous other critters that reside in and around the stream!
