The Future Starts with You: Strategic Giving for Lasting Change

We believe that lasting change is built on a foundation of trust, generosity, vision, and shared commitment. Our mission to promote robust wild salmon stocks for families, fishers, and local economies is only possible through the dedication of individuals who choose to invest in a better future. Whether through a one-time gift, a legacy contribution, or a strategic philanthropic investment, every act of giving fuels the restoration and educational programs that make a tangible difference in the ecological and economic health of the North Olympic Peninsula.

NOSC is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity. There are many ways to support our mission, each tailored to fit your financial planning and philanthropic goals:

Donor Advised Funds

We gratefully accept gifts from Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs), a powerful way for supporters like you to make a lasting impact. A DAF functions like a charitable investment account, designed exclusively to support nonprofits you care about—like us!

When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a DAF at a public charity you can take advantage of immediate tax benefits. Meanwhile, your donated funds can be invested and grow tax-free, allowing you to maximize your giving potential over time.

IRA/Retirement Distribution

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $108,000 total to one or more charities directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions. As a result, donors may avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets and prevent phaseouts of other tax deductions, though there are some other limitations.

Gifts of this kind are made directly from IRA custodians to nonprofits like ours. Contact your IRA custodian and follow their procedures to request a “Qualified Charitable Distribution.” Include your name and address so we can send you a written acknowledgement. Provide the recipient information below to your custodian, along with our Tax ID# 91-1500992. Direct your check, drawn on your IRA account and made payable to North Olympic Salmon Coalition, to:

Legacy & Planned Giving
Legacy & Planned Giving: Many of our most dedicated supporters ensure that their values live on by including North Olympic Salmon Coalition in their estate plans. Whether through a bequest, charitable remainder trust, life insurance policy, or beneficiary designation, legacy gifts secure the future of our mission for generations to come.

Major Gifts & Stock Donations
Gifts of appreciated assets, such as stocks, bonds, or real estate, or cryptocurrenty not only benefit our nonprofit but also offer donors significant tax advantages.
